Even though these were just movies, the real life stories I heard of mothers-in-law were even worse! In fact, honestly I started praying at that time for my future mother-in-law to be dead before I met my future husband as I could not imagine having to go through the mother-in-law ordeal mehn!lol. I felt like majority of them were bad if not all, so no point having one.

One day, I decided to share my powerful prayer point with my best friend. She was older and more mature than me. She was a christian too but her love for God and for people was genuine and exceptional, bless her heart. She made me realize the importance of having a good mother-in-law and encouraged me to pray instead that my mother-in-law would love me and take me as her own daughter and not just an in-law. That was a complete change of mindset for me and I started to believe that my mother-in-law would be a different woman. Little did I know that my future mother-in-law was praying the same prayer for her future daughter-in-law! God is amazing!!!

My mother-in-law is the best, sacrificing one year of her life to assist me in taking care of my kids at a critical period in my career. She spoils me silly! I have lost count of the many clothes she has bought for me. I call her my mother-in-love because she is not just an in-law to me, she has become my mother too. I can also confidently call her my friend (oh we gist a lot!) and confidant. Living with her was great. Oh, did I mention that she is an amazing cook! I’ve learnt how to make some nice intercontinental cuisines from her and I’ve shared some of my recipes with her too. I couldn’t have asked for any better, God indeed answers prayers!

Dear single lady, don’t wish your future mother-in-law dead! There are still amazing mothers-in-law out there who would cherish and value their daughters-in-law. Have you started praying about the kind of mother-in-law you would like to have? Or are you focussing only on praying for Mr Right to manifest? Start praying for God to bless you with a loving mother-in-law, you would be glad you did.
Dear married lady, if you have a great mother-in-law, do not take her for granted, let her know how much you appreciate her, such women are not very common. If you have one that is not so great, pray for her, show her love despite her ill-treatment. Yes, love always wins! One day, she would come to know the love of God.
