Many wives, especially pastors’ wives live in the shadows of their husbands.

Many desire to do more and be more but have been caged and are frustrated because they have married men who believe that they are only meant to show up and speak only when given the opportunity or permission to do so or within the four confines of their local church. Some women are even in ministries where they are prohibited from fulfilling God’s purpose for their lives because of some doctrines stipulated by men…. Hmmm!

Single ladies, before you get married, be sure that you marry a man (even if he is a man of God) who is not insecure about your amazing potentials, purpose and dreams. Make sure the man is comfortable to see you rise and soar even if you would be greater than him, he would still fan you to flame! This is the kind of man that you should marry, not the man who is already intimidated just because you shared a great idea or vision with him. Marriage is team work and both husband and wife are to work together to ensure both fulfil their potential. This is how we can truly have the dominion God commanded.

There is a lot that God has equipped every woman with and marriage should amplify it not diminish them. The church should encourage it not discourage it.

As a man, if you feel that letting a woman rise would make her disrespect or dishonour you, then you shouldn’t marry that woman in the first place, you might be better off marrying someone who has no dream or better off alone.
