1. Love yourself -
You may not be where you want to be but be grateful for where you are.
Choose to appreciate and applaud yourself for the little steps of progress that you make.
Avoid comparing, don't compete just do you and love you.
.
.
2. Take a break -
Stress can cause a mental breakdown.
Take a break from work, go on leave so you don’t break down. Don’t wait till you are sick or break down before you actually take a sick leave. You could be overwhelmed emotionally with work, take a break.
Take a break off social media intermittently! It helps!
.
.
3. Exercise:
Yes, this is very important! Go for that walk, run, skip, jog, dance, gym…Whatever sport you enjoy! Just do it!
Exercise has a way of releasing hormones that make us feel good and boost our mood.
.
.
4. Cut down on substances you might be addicted to -
Like coffee, alcohol, tobacco, cannabis/weed/marijuana, cocaine, etc. A lot of these substances mess with our brains, mess with our mental health. You may think they make you feel good short term but the long term effects are deleterious.
.
.
5. Surround yourself with good people -
The truth is there would be tough times, times you feel down, feel heart broken, overwhelmed, exhausted, or even depressed!
You need the right people around you to encourage you and lift up your spirit. People who will hug you tight and let you know they believe in you! ❤️
I hope you take these 5 goals seriously.
Your mental health matters!
