It was a very busy day at the Emergency Department. I was already feeling exhausted and looking forward to going home.
As I typed my notes after reviewing another patient, one of my colleagues said, ‘Blessing, there’s a parcel for you, is today your birthday?’ I said no.
Then she asked again ‘your anniversary’? I said no.
Then she asked in surprise, ‘who got you a gift’?
Me: A gift?
She brought the gift to me.
This was five years ago, my husband and I were in a long-distance marriage at that time and we lived about 8 hours drive from each other. Even though we spoke everyday, we hadn’t exchanged any gifts.
However, as I opened up the gift, I immediately knew who it was from. It was from my husband! How sweet and thoughtful! I was immediately filled with smiles and my colleagues couldn’t stop talking about how romantic his gesture was .
I was no longer tired and was all smiles till the end of my shift!
Till this very moment, that’s one memory I would never forget in a hurry.
Love is beautiful and when we are intentional about showing love to those we love it goes a long way, especially in marriage.
Shout out to the best husband in the world.I love you!
Dear friend, please go out of your way to show love to those you love today.
